Once assured that her elf had a good grip on her scales, she took a quick running start through the trees and kicked off the ground, beating her wings strongly. She rose as high as the tree tops, so as not to be spotted by the locals. As they flew farther away, Amn dwindled out of sight, and Zachana let the currents carry her up to the cloud tops. Sensing Shadow's distress, she assured them they did not have much farther. A swamp reared into view, bordered by surprisingly healthy wildlife. A small glade was centered not a quarter mile from the swamps border, and that was were Zachana landed. Scooping Shadow gently off her back, she set him on grass as soft as a blanket and chaged to her human form. The setting was almost too perfect...birds chirping a crystal clear creek running through, and rocks strategicly placed for comfort. Zachana undid the pack and spread the blanket, laying the food and drink on it, patting a spot next to her as she sat, "You must be exhausted from that flight," she said with a smile, "Come have some food,"
After some time of rejoicing, Verloren had sat Avalon down after he said he had news of Calaethis. Her eyes glowed in rage as he relayed what happened in his cave with the young elf, but dissipated in startlement as he told her his cousin's story. She frowned,
"Well, if his actions were not his own, we might take him back. Although I fear Alliene will be...out of sorts. It's too long a flight..." she pulled out a wand and looked at it doubtfuly, "This has 2 charges of dimension door...Alliene gave it to me. Might as well put it to use," so she did. They found an unconcious Calaethis and brought him back to his charges rooms...Alliene had refused to come and see him, and now was in a most foul mood after learning of what they did...
