I'm not one to really point the finger at the 'absolute worst' game companies, but a recent feedback response from EA's technical assistance left me very annoyed recently.

I bought the Dragon Edition of the Ultima Ascension pack in May or so 2000 and have been gradually going through the series. I'm up to Serpent's Isle and have been trying to find an ideal setup to get it going in DOS on my newly setup Dx4-100; a dedicated retro gaming machine.

Anyway, I emailed EA for help with this setup - since they are obliged to help after taking over Origin . *sniff sniff*. The response I got was amusing at first. The person replied asking for my dxdiag information when I made it very obvious that U7 Part Two is a DOS game and that Directx isn't installed! Grr!

I replied and repeated my request. Basically I was told that they no longer have that information anymore and that I was to look elswhere online. Disgraceful! Perhaps the individual who responded just didn't know, but I'm sure with a bit of research asking more knowledgable work associates - I'd have gotten the help I needed.

I would have thought that EA would pride itself on its technical help and actually take responsibility for the games of companies it takes over.

Oh well. I'll figure something out. If anyone has a setup or secret method they used, feel free to PM me.
