I usually play a Paladin and something else, like a thief, or a mage or a cleric. Doesn't really matter what I play, but I were to roll a pc for me, I would try for one of the Strong Armed Paly types. Unless we were doing a slightly evil party, then I would go with a multi monk/mage combo. That way you don't have to have melee weapons, your fists are already plus weapons. Quite the suprise for the enemy. You get up to the mage and she kicks you ass without any weapons.
Unwanton attack? She egged it on. Told me I couldn't beat her in hand to hand. Humph. I even warned her, kinda . . . when I asked if we had safed the game . . . ok, so maybe it was not the nicest thing to do, but it sure was funny when you kicked my ass for it, so I think we are even.
