Then, Zuvio, the whole BG2 is cheesy from beginning to end. How are you selecting spells for memorizing before resting? Are you using dices for it? Naturally, you don't know what monster are waiting for you.
You know, Zuvio, there is a big difference between cheesy behaviour and using knowledge. Knowledbe is not cheesy. A cheesy behaviour consists in taking advantage from evident bugs and misunderstandings in the game. Examples:
A ranger/cleric dual class: using druid spells is a bit cheesy. If you don't want to do such things then command yourself to forget Wondrous Recall, Insect Plague and another non cleric spells. Use only those druid spells that can be used by the ranger part of the ranger/cleric.
A kensai/mage hurling axes. A kensai is supposed not to use ranged weapons. All ranged weapons are forbidden to him but the authors overlooked that axes can be ranged weapons, too. Non cheesy behaviour = not using throwing axes by a kensai.
A "fake talk" method of fighting dragons. It takes advantage from the fact that every turn lasts 6 seconds. Similarly, the "feeblemind" method is based on the bug that a dragon does not react on casting Feeblemind on it.
Reequipping Staff of Magi, and so on.
All these examples are examples of cheddar-like behaviour. On the other hand, laying traps is not cheddar like. Striking a lich by Daystar is not cheesy. BTW, how are you using traps if you do not know where the monster will go?
