I do agree Yorick, of course we have an awareness. Personally I loved the Matrix and I do love to speculate on these matters; but in the end, I really don't think most of these theories (such as the 15 minutes one) are unholdable. I do know that all we really have is our own awareness, but I do believe that that awareness is real, and not something that could be constructed by a superbeing in 15 minutes. It just wouldn't feel that way if it would have been.

It is not that the superbeing created it in 15 minutes...it might have taken them millions of years, but perhaps the creation has only been in place for 15 minutes or 15 years or 15 days, doesn't matter. The theory behind it is that you do not and can not know for sure that this is not true (i.e. there is no way to disprove it). Also, it does not mean that we are not aware now, only that our memories of the past could be a creation rather than a reality.
