This is very true. Certainly in Britain there is a rise every spring in 'plane crashes - as people take to the skies in light aircraft - many of them taking lessons, inexperienced, in aircraft that maybe have not been used over the winter months, or failure to take account of changing weather conditions etc. It's barely given much mention, but it seems as though there's another tragedy every week for a month or so, with 2 or 3 people dying here or there, just a quick news-item at the end of the news. Not celebrities, but people's dad, mum, sister, friend, lover.

I hadn't really paid it much attention before, this must happen to only a tiny tiny fraction of those who fly in light aircraft, but shows that there are dangers with a small 'plane.
