Those icons towards the lower bottom left side of the screen where you would stick a sword, bow, or leave blank for fist?[/QUOTE]Nope, it just covers them up with the "Melf's" icon until you run out of missiles, then it re-equips the character with the item that's in the first slot.
(Mages might want to remember to put their ranged weapon in the first slot, otherwise, you may find them wandering into melee with their staff when they run out of minute missiles!)
