Actually, Sir Kenyth, the King James isn't that good a translation. It was seriously influenced by King James' opinions, even though he did not personally write it.
Modern translations that use the oldest texts and compare them for accuracy are way the best. But avoid 'paraphrased' bibles - they are more readable, but are also more liable to distortion by the beliefs of the translators.
