They have to give audiences what they want and at the same time keep the movie flowing and dynamic. The romance between Arwen and Aragorn
is hinted at in the books but never given much more than that. Mainly because he wasn't writing a romance. Tolkien was writing the history of the Ring. The trailers are wonderful and I think they may have captured the spirit of the books. If everything is not exactly as in the books then so much the better, a few surprises might be just what we want. We just don't know it. Peter Jackson did warn us all months ago that there would be more of the romance than in the books. He also said that he was striving mightily to maintain the feel and spirit of the story.
He is a Fan of the books as well.
December 19 is the opening night for the 1st movie. That is a Wednesday. I personally plan to be there and judge for myself.
