I tried throwing a little kid once, but it didn't work like I tought it would, it just ended up with me getting a blue-eye from his father..

I believe the proper term would be "Dwarf Chucking".

Halberds would be verry effective when used in the second rank of a skirmish line. The reach of a spear with the mass to take out a combatant even if they were wearing a helm. A thunk on the head with even an iron tipped spear won't do too much damage... but to get whacked with a halbard on the noggin, that would ring your bell for sure.

One on one I think it's not a good weapon. Too easy to get inside of... same with spear.
