Tukey cannot be so stupid. The US is still strong in the area. Also, an attack would fall under the 5th article of NATO convention, compelling all Nato members to turn on Turkey (the so called Turkey shoot - sorry couldn't resist [img]tongue.gif[/img] ).
Obviously there are other ways to hinder the US apart from an open war - e.g. fund the Turkish population in Iraq to provoke secession movements, terrorism, etc. Or force the US to move the strategically unvaluable air bases in Turkey. And surely others I cannot think of now.
