It smelt like a set up to me to.

I highly doubt it was the normal groups like Hamas who usually claim responsibility following attacks. I doubt it was the Israeli government although I would not put it past Sharon if he thought he could make it play in his favour. Sharon is a war criminal and a military tactician, don't trust him to play by the rules.

More than likely it was a hardliner Israeli, a supporter of Sharon, acting without authority who thought it would be in the best interest to blame the palistians, at least that would be my first guess. But the list of possibilities is long.
