I think the point of the article is that this is the very problem, a result of the unfortunate ignorance of the majority of plebian America.
Personally, I think the NY Times today is taking a wank on a lot of things to lament the loss of the election. They've got articles assigning blame for loss of the election to everything ranging from Kerry (who failed them) to the stupid Americans that live everywhere but New York. [img]graemlins/heee.gif[/img] Have a looksee and see if you don't reach the same conclusions.
