Let's take the example that I gave, from LOTR: "You are no niggard, Eomer...(etc.)"[/i] If you edit it to, "You are no miser," or "no skinflint," etc., you completely lose the alliteration, which is one reason that I remember this line so vividly. We should not surrender the language to some soreheads' pettiness.
