With 3 inches of ice we won't necessarily need SUV's to drive around. To beat all you Northern snowbirds to the question, both chains and studded tires are against the law in Texas. I've never seen anybody actually get a ticket for chains though. Maybe that's because the law doesn't apply to police, highway patrol, or emergency vehicles.
