Ok, here are the sequence of events as far as I piece them together.

You unzipped the Nalia mod into the main directory. That does two things. One, it creates the subfolder 'Nalia', containing 142 setup files. Two, it places the readme and the Nalia install proram into the BG2 main directory.

When you run the the Nalia setup program, it took the 142 files in the Nalia folder and placed them into the Override folder. Override is a folder that seems to have been included for modifications to the BG game - patch files go there, Bigfix files go there, mod files go there.

You tried to play the game, but because of problems - other mods you have installed, for example - it failed to work. God knows why - I couldn't run the Nalia romance either.

You deleted the Nalia setup program and the readme and the Nalia directory, and uninstalled and reinstalled ToB and SoA.

When the game is uninstalled, however, it doesn't delete everything. Any files in the Override folder that were not part of the original install are left there, along with saved games in the Save folder and portraits in the Portrait folder. When you re-installed the game, all the Nalia files were still in the Override folder. In order to get rid ofthem, you would have had to run the Nalia setup program again and select the uninstall option.

Once you deleted everything, of course, the Override folder was deleted and so were the already-installed Nalia files.

That, I think, is what happened. I may be wrong. Try using the Nalia romance without any other modifications (ease of use, dungeon-be-gone, Ascension, etc etc) to see if it works then. Hope that helps!
