Missing Alberta girl found safe

Police said there's nothing to suggest missing Alberta teen Jordan Long ran away. (RCMP) An Alberta teenager who went missing two days ago has been found alive and safe, her relatives said Saturday night. Jordan Long, 16, disappeared Thursday night after a trip to a convenience store, sparking an intensive search by RCMP and volunteers. "She has been found and this is the best day ever," said Jordan's aunt, Bonnie Tanton. "She is on her way to the police station. We have her back and we are so glad. This is the best day." Tanton wouldn't provide any more details, but there were unconfirmed reports that the girl telephoned her home from a local mall. The teenager had last been seen making some purchases at a store in Penhold, just south of Red Deer. Relatives said she drove there from her nearby home wearing pyjamas and a coat. Twenty minutes later her family found her truck parked in front of their home with the keys inside and the lights on. Her purse and the items she bought at the store were in the truck, but her wallet and cellphone were gone. Police combed the area around the family home on Saturday. Volunteers distributed more than 20,000 posters and a Facebook website was set up to solicit information on her whereabouts.
