I recently contracted a virus through a friend on AIM, and not sure if I can get rid of it. So far, it has done anything, but I definitely don't like it being there. I've run AVG Free, and Adaware, and Adaware picked up something I hadn't seen before, but I don't think it got rid of everything. The file ws called "pictures@gallery". I've tried erasing it, but I cant get everything, I think it may be a constant application-thing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hoho! I have erased the file in question. Even so, should I still look for something?

Yeah, keep your eyes peeled for a while---viruses like to embed themselves in the system restore databases, nowadays, and that can prove to be a nuisance.

Have you tried deleting it in safe mode? You can get there by hitting F8 during the boot process.

If you want to clear your system restore. Turn it off and then restart your computer and then turn it back on.

I'd suggest a visit over to Trend Micro for an online housecall. It's a quick way to make sure there's nothing else left behind.

And then try HiJack This to make sure there are no other goobers hiding around.
