2 questions again

1) I am now playing a swashie level 10 mind you and pretty good. Anyway when would it be good to dual him to a mage?

2) Shaylo peeked around the next corner. "No trolls in this corridor." The halls stank with troll. Shaylo didn't need to hear the trolls to know they were close. The swashbuckler approached the door at the other end of the hall. Silently he opened it, openeing a little crack. A troll is what he saw but it looked diffrent from the last one he encountored. This one seemed transparent. It smelt the air and its red eyes narrowed as it saw the thief. The troll moved somewhere in the room out of Shaylo's line of sight. Shaylo with great caution opened the door a bit wider. Saw nothing but suddenly a green claw reached out to scratch his face. Shaylo managed to move back just in time and felt one of the troll's long nails clip his nose. Shaylo ran back and the troll ran after him. Shaylo ran into the room where Minsc and the rest of the party waited for him. Shaylo went behind Minsc and taken out his crossbow.

Minsc charged first yelling a battle cry and slashed a huge gap in the troll's neck and Jaheria at the same time thurst her magical scimitar at the troll's torso. The troll yelped in pain but was quickly regenrating. Nalia and Shaylo was firing away at the troll but they seemed to have no real effect. Shaylo and Nalia put away their projectile launching weapons and both taken out magical short swords and charged. The troll attempted to scratch Jaheria's face but she managed to make a step back in time and slashed off the monster's fingers. New fingers grew where the fingers once were on the trolls gruesome hand. Shaylo and Nalia both repeadly thurst at the Troll's backside. But the troll didn't seem to notice. But Shaylo knew that they were both doing some damage. The green fiend fell to one knee and let out a loud cry and immideatly everyone was came over with exhaustioun and fell unconsious. Only Nalia and Shaylo stood. Nalia took out a scroll and started reading off the words. Shaylo thurst with all his might trying to get the troll's attention. But it took no heed of the thief and slashed and teared Minsc's body. In seconds Minsc was slain. There came a flash and a huge orgillion behind the troll came by. The orgillion gave a huge smack on the troll's side making the troll go a few feet back. But the troll enraged screamed again and made the orgillion go unconsious too. Nalia attempted to pierce the it's neck but the troll managed to evade the attack and slashed Nalia's face and with his under hand badly scraped her neck. Nalia fell and only Shaylo remained standing.

As you can see I have installed the tactics mod and I have a problem with those spirt trolls I was so close in defeating one but ANOTHER one came from behind. MAN I had a hard enough time with one. Any advice?

1) Anytime after you get a new weapon proficiency or new AC/THACO bonuses. I had so much fun with the swashy that I just recently finished the game with that I kept him as a single class character rather than dual him to mage like I'd originally planned!

2) Man I hate those spirit trolls! Try using the strategy with Poly Self that I posted under the most recent Improved Torgal thread - you'll find it here:

If memory serves spectral trolls are rather susceptible to cloudkill.

I will agree with Desuma and advise you to not dual your swashbuckler.
