I could tell you the location of some nice items if you really want but really I think it's better for you to discover them yourself. One of the greatest things about the game is just that - discovery. It's much better if you play it yourself without a walkthrough etc. If you really want ask again and I'll tell you the location of some nice items however.

Is this your first time through the game? If so, just check out each item you come across and decide if it's better or worse that what you've already got. It will be quite awhile before you run out of necks and fingers for jewelry if you have a full party, so don't worry about throwing stuff away for awhile. Plus, you can always stuff your extras in a gem bag for storage in case you decide that your thief is better off with a ring of invis instead a ring of protection.

...read this only if you really really MUST know...
Since you've done the game already, I guess you did a lot of the quests - seems like you just want to refresh your memory - dude, try looking here and it'll tell you practically everything you need to know about the SHTUFF in the game, in fact maybe too much, so take it easy there; then you can pick and choose what you want to acquire... Just remember there's probably still a lot of gameplay you haven't seen yet, so this info could spoil you to some extent http://www.flatface.net/~itemsmart/ |

I'm not quite clear here. Do you want to be spoiled for item locations or is this a "what do you think is best" topic?
In the first case just take Mahlennacht's advice. In second case: Most people will agree with me that the ring you loot from a certain demilich is by far the most powerful in the game. Also anything that lowers your AC without being a "of Protection" item (can't wear more than one at once) is great. Speaking of which my favourite cloak is green and smelly and lets you turn into something green and smelly but also supplies AC bonus. The Cloak of Mirroring is quite nice too but has ugly graphics (and reduced abilities) with ToB installed. Which cloak is good for you however mostly depends on who to wear it as they mostly supply class specific bonuses.

After a dramatic fight with a random high level monster of Faerun.
Monk: "Oh cool! I found the Skullcracker Staff! Wait a minute... it says Cleric-Only... DOH!" Monk bangs head against wall. Meanwhile... seven seas and five nations away, a Cleric banishes a Vampire from the mortal plane. Cleric: "WooHoo! Who's your momma?! What's this? The Bracers of Bunnypunching for Monks?!?! Hey! This loot is crap!" The moral of the story is, "Best is subjective." |

hilarious!
You're absolutely right, Carsomyr is useless may you be the strongest berserker of the realms and Soul Reaver won't help you if you are the sternest Paladin.
