getting the best non-cheesed stats

just wondering how long you guys have spent hitting the re-roll button cause you wanted the best stats you could get (without cheating, which I am not above)
I know I have definitly spent over an hour doing that, almost get into a trance there huh? I think the best non-cheat stats I've gotten added up to 95, and I think the best (being all stats 18, and yes I know some races can get certain stats over that) you can get is 108.

I hate when I'm in a stat rolling groove and I'm going so fast I reroll one that I really meant to keep. About ten minutes is my max, I can't imagine doing it for an hour.

If you played BG1, you could just import your character from BG1 into BG2, so you don't roll the dice for stats then. That's what I did, so in answer to your question, I would have to say that it took me about 1 or 2 minutes

Depending on character class I usually until I get an 88-90.
Takes me 10-15 mins on the average.
If I get a 94 I'm happy but if I really wanted my char to have 97 I'd use Shadowkeeper instead of rolling for an hour.

I just re-roll 'til I have just above 90, then it's Shadowkeepers turn to do the work. But more and more often I'm trying to play characters without godly stats.

Doesn't holding Control+Shirft+8 give you 18/00 strength with everything else 18? I read it in 1 of the posts, but I havn't tried it to see if it works.

It is just CTRL+8...

It depends on what I want to play - I usually spend a minimum of 5 minutes, simply because I don't like power-gaming stats down to 3 or, in some cases, 2 and 1 (yuck, gawds they look artificial.) My current project, a solo Fighter-Thief going through both games plus expansions took about 15 minutes - but that was because I got an incredible, near perfect roll. Usually, if I'm creating a powerful character (you gotta be somewhat powerful, right? You are the son/daughter of a god

) I can spend between 15-30 mins. But ya know, you can usually get a very good roll (90+) after only about 10 mins.

I usually am pleased with between 85 and 90 too, but this hour long re-roll fiasco happened when I had just started playing BG1 so really didn't know what was what. Generally I have a 88, thats usually decent enough for anything.
