I'm usually never lawful good, 90% of the time I'm a chaotic good elven ranger when I play games. I only became a fallen ranger once when accepting an evil item, I won't spoil
I usually try to stay good.

Hmm the only time I have ever played a good character was with a Paladin, and it didnt last very long.... I made him Polymorph peasants, and pick-pocket as often as possible (always failed)

The one evil action a Paladin (or any character) MUST take it to accept the help of the Shadow Thieves. I know the game has it set up so it is the “good option” but there isn’t anything good about it. A truly lawful person would not associate with thieves or pay bribes to get help to rescue Imoen. Yet that is the only option available. When I am in role play mood I accept that aid of the thieves with the idea that it is a sacrifice I am making for my beloved sister. Remember when the djinn in château Irenicus goes through the whole stupid “if you were locked in a box” mind game and you respond “I would press the button” I figure this sort of sacrifice is what that djinn was talking about.
