First of all thank ya'll for helping me with the install problems I had in the past. Right now I'm playing through the game with tactics installed, for the first time. I've heard how hard this mod makes the game and after seeing the Improved Ilyich I'm a little bit worried. Right now I'm playing through with...
Adabant Cleric/Ranger Viconia Keldorn and later to be added... Imoen Soluafein FFFFFF">S The problem is I want to rush into spellhold and get Imoen and Soluafein as quickly so I have control of Soluafien's weapon choices and so Imoen won't be too far behind. Right now I'm clearing the Cult of the Eyeless (Balduran's Shield, hehe) just to get Keldorn. This is the party I want so the game will center around redemption and the bhaalspawn in the game. I'm just worried about being able to survive the underdark and doing all the quests with 'improved' creatures. Is going into the underdark with a 9/9 cleric/ranger a feasible task? i've found the generic 'normal' improvements and 'toughest monster spawns' manageable in tactics - it's the featureful fights (illyich, bodhi etc.) that seem a touch on the ridiculous side
if you've avoided spoilers up to now i'm inclined to avoid giving you any but the tactics readme should give you an idea . . . thinking about it another way - what's the worst that could happen? oh - and generally that NPC you can pick up in throne of bhall is not mentioned by name on here as it's a spoiler |

You will be fine in the Underdark with your character, your party will be able to support you.
Might take a reload or two, but nothing too harsh. |

Yeah, I ended up skipping Saughin city in an effort to get to Soluafein ASAP. I made it out of the underdark and am very much enjoying Sola's company. However I am frustrated because the only weapon of +3 enchantment I own is Lilacor. Normally no biggie but I can't seem to get far into any quest without running into a lich and more importantly his slightly (my arse) tougher pit fiend minion. Right now they are barring my way to the Shade Lord. Anyone know where I can find some decent +3 weapons, preferably ones my ranger/cleric can use. Also I finished the Unseeing Eye quest but was denied my cleric stronghold. Is this normal?

Dunno about the cleric stronghold.
As far as weapons go, you can buy a +3 longsword called Sword of the Roses from the fat dude at the Copper Coronet. The adventurer's mart has 1 or 2 +3-and-higher weapons, I believe. You also can get a ton of them from one of those two bonus merchants, the guy, who hangs out at the Copper Coronet. |

Due to a bug, Ranger/Clerics are not elegible for the Cleric stronghold. This is tied in to the fact that all Rangers have the Ranger Stronghold thrust at them, whether they want it or not--they don't even have a conversation option to try to refuse. The Oversight mod corrects this, I hear.
+3 or better weapons are flying around everywhere. You'll find 'em, trust me. If you're having trouble with Pit Fiends, just try to avoid Liches for a while.
