Just curious when everyone is taking on the Keep? I'm about at the end of Chapter 8 (going to rest and then fight Yaga Sura). Spoilers welcome...

My party is as follows:

Me (21st lvl sorcerer)
Anomen (23rd lvl)
Minsc (21st lvl)
Keldorn (20th lvl)
Jaheira (14th/14th lvl)
Imoen (14th lvl)

Watchers Keep isn't too hard for these levels? And does it affect the game if I delay going after Yaga Sura.

I know that Yaga will destroy the town before I get back no matter how quickly I do so, just wondering if there is any other argument against delaying that fight and doing the Keep first?

No good reason at all. Yaga-Shura and the destruction of Saradush will wait for you patiently while you tackle the keep.
One plus point for doing WK *NOW* is that there are plenty of cool weapons and other neat items to loot and plunder from the keep.

I'm still on my first ever party with BG2. I didn't get the ToB expansion until I was already at Spellhold.

For my next run I might try it while still in SoA... but don't you need to have access to the pocket plane and that imp to have some of those special items made?

Best time to enter WK? IMMEDIATELY!

Best time to finish WK? End of SoA or any time in ToB.

There are some sweet items on the 1st floor and a party fresh out of Irenicus' dungeon will have no trouble getting to them.

So you'd enter WK right at the beginning of the game (start of Chapter 2, when you exit Irenicus' dungeon and first see Waukeen's promenade)?

Wow that is early. I have a walkthrough for WK but haven't read it through yet. I assumed you'd want to be higher in levels first. Do you just target certain items and then leave WK without finishing the first floor?

And what items are on the first floor?

Spoilers are welcome, and thanks for the feedback. This will definitely have an impact on my next run through BG2.

Be warned that there is a Stone Golem inside, so avoid the room to your left unless you have +2 or better weapons.

You can get Quiver of Plenty( unlimited +1 arrows), Case of Plenty( unlimited +1 bolts), Ammunition Pouch( stores up till 2000 ammunition and darts), Book of Golem( Flesh Golem), etc... ...
