Hiyall

I have completed the whole of Shadow of Ahm, once, on my Apple Mac. I have got half way through about twice and restarted about five times.

Now, I have just had a PC made for me specially for games because I was fed up of waiting for them to be ported to the mac.

Now a dilemma, I have just bought another Shadow of Ahm this time with Throne of Bhaal included for my new PC.

Do I play the whole thing through again just as Soa without installing ToB and then when I have the final fight, install it then OR do I install the whole thing, do the Watchers Keep and just play SOA OR because I have completed the game once on my Mac, start on ToB.

Or better still, does anyone know how to convert my Mac saved games to PC? That would be the preferred option.

I would ideally like to start again, but I have a backlog of games I have bought this past two weeks to get through for my PC, like ten of em!!!! (I am probably answering my own question here, but I would like some opinions please)

HELP

I heard that installing ToB from the beginning enhances the experience of SoA. You also fon't have to save before the last battle and then do the install, blah blah blah...

OT: who is the woman in your sig?

She is Lulu from Final Fantasy X, you can download a brilliant wallpaper from the SquareSoft site, I think it is SquareSoft or one of the Final Fantasy sites.

If you cannot find it I will email the jpeg to you

I have it as my desktop wallpaper on my Mac at home and my Mac at work

Lady Zidane

Thanks for advice, how much does it enhance SoA, little or lot?

It does enhance SoA a bit, Lady Zidane. Just a bit of spoiler:

The NPC interactions are more enhanced in SoA with ToB installed; they say more during encounters and comment far more on what's going on rather than just standing there like puppets.

Watcher's Keep...need I say more? Chock full of all sorts of new goodies that you couldn't get before, and most of them are upgradable when you get to ToB.

The ability to *legally* get past the XP cap that SoA had...be able to surprise the heck out of Irenicus with Time Stop, Spell Trigger, Chain Contingency...be able to give back to him what he's been dishing out to everyone else in the game.

New powers after 2,900,000 XP for all characters based on their classes.

Try it and see!

Other bonuses include the fact that you can erase spells from your spellbook and also you can hit tab to highlight all chests and containers in the area.
ToB includes some new lines for the NPCs when you give them orders as well.

Brilliant, thank you

I will now install SoA and ToB together and start from the very beginning - nothing like a bit of a challenge

Many thanks

errr I just have to finish Planescape Torment first......
