well, because Neverwinter Nights 2...KotoR is GREAT, but not enough, it has to be the forgotten realms thing I guess.
starting a new game is not easy, need to gather together all the patches, fixes, desireable mods...but the biggest problem is my upgraded system, a pair of 7900GTX cannot show the game graphic properly (with tiles). fortunately I have an older system at hand and a 6800 card. mostly want to try out the Saerileth mod...cannot get enough romance I guess. voice acting is not up to the original, professional standard, but is not distracting; overall though, so far, we just finished the slaver quest, is quite impressive. tactics again, ...the fallen deva in improved Ilyich still casts fire storm disregarding the presence of her casters, therefore killing one of Ilyich's guys in the process... improved fire giant? the original version is annoying enough (not installed). after I get Saerileth, walking through the Temple District, a group of bandits approaching us, the mage and priest in the mix, casting spells like crazy...we got whacked!!probably the "always the toughest encounter" component? They are not really tough, they are tough only because we cannot cast spell in Athkatla, but they can~~ well, guess even bandits pay to have the spell casting privilege? now I have both NWN2 and this run going, tempting to add Planescape Torment in the mix...well, D&D CRPG still the best for me personally, though Company of Heroes, Half-life 2 and such are also enjoyable...

Bandits in the Temple District? I don't think you get attacked in the Temple District in an unmodded game. I've never used Tactics, but I believe that random battles with adventuring parties are part of that mod.
Speaking of spell licences and mods, if you install the Unfinished Business mod from Pocketplane, and keep Minsc in your party long enough, you'll get a nice surprise. UB is a fun mod anyways. Edit: you CAN buy a magic liscence you know. It's a government thing, so hang out in the proper government buildings and you'll find a rather costly option. Enjoy your game! ![]() [ 01-01-2007, 06:06 AM: Message edited by: Mahokenshi ] |
