A few months ago I have bought a quite recent book - Redemption of Althalus. (Copyright 2000, first international edition march 2001)
If you are Eddings fun - read it. I would say that some schemes are obvious and well known but book is good. I would say is better (or much better?, hmm dunno) than Eddings "second parts" (Mallorea and Elenium).
If you havent read anything written by him (or together with wife) it is very good position (very rare standalone event )

Hmmmm.....I can't believe I forgot this one! I ordered it some time ago and put it on my shelf because I was reading other things at the time. I completely forgot to go back and read it! I will now, though.

I must say that the eddings books have been the best i have ever read. I know it says this in the rivan codex but eddings books were the books that actually got me into reading properly and i havent been able to put them down since. I like them because they are easy to read and very well writen. The Elenium and Tamuli were my first read, and lets face it after reading them how could i stop. Do i sound like an enthusiast? oh well maybe its because i am!! I absulutly love there books and hope there will be many to come!

I used to like Edding's Book alot, but after reading Redemption has turned me off. Whats to like about that book? It's simply a rehash of his other book's plot and character. The cynical thief, the short n angry princess, Big dumb warrior, Knights and the assortment of Gods n Goddess. Imho Redemption Of Athalus is his worst work because it is his latest work and his plotlines has been rehashed in at least 2 of his series.

I agree that there is nothing new. But if you have to read the same in 10 books dont you think that it is better to read only one?

I have just read all the books from the Malloreon series. I have to say that i liked it alot, but it took a while to read them so it may take a while before i read them again. =)
I'm currently reading Terry Goodkinds 'Wizards first rule'. That's a great book too, you should read it! If you haven't =)

Edding does write very nicely and his characters are nice but must they always be in the same vein? Yes I did read the Terry Goodkin Series it gets quite violent later and hero and heroine gets pretty boring too....

Kresselack, are you saying violence is bad?!?!?! But I have to agree with Zbyszek that The Redemption of Althalus is good book. Even if the characters are reminiscent of the other books Eddings has written... still, it's a good book. Does anyone know about any other books Eddings might be writing? Hmm... personally, though, I like a;ll of Terry Goodkinds Sword of Truth books that have come out... *shrug* So fancy and mildly exploding... minus the mildly exploding part, anyway... *begins mumbling random words*

I loved Redemption of Althalus, just like a loved all the other Edding's books. I liked it, mainly because it made me think of his other works. Anyways, i used to reread edding's books once every year or two, but now that you guys mention Terry Goodkinds, i think i'll try his works. I never heard of him before, because i live in Canada and the libraries there are kinda retarded and don't have all the good fantasy books that comes out and since i'm still a student, i can't afford to buy new books. Anyways, i'll check it out on my next trip to the library. Tx guys for the info.
