Ok, quick question as it's been nearly three years since I last played this game...

IIRC, the info for Durlags Goblet is wrong yes? As in, when it says it heals 5GP, it actually heals it all?

Does anyone know how many charges it has?

And, also IIRC, if you use it while wearing Kiels helmet, then you negate the fear aspect of Durlags goblet?

I've just got the goblet, but had to turn off cos i'm off to bed, so not tried it yet.

If you can just let me know whether I'm right or wrong I'd appreciate it, as my memory isn't usually brilliant!

Ta,

I think it has five charges, and it might heal you entirely.

I'm not sure, but I think the helmet negates it. But I haven't played the game in a while, so I could be wrong.

Now the real problem could be to recharge it through selling it. It is after all a cursed item and dealers don't usually accept cursed goods.
So I suggest that you leave it unidentified. That way you will always be able to buy it back.

Ok, thought as much. Wasn't sure on the amount of charges though....

Yeah, but if you sell it whilst unidentified, you can always buy it back, but not use it when you want it...so I see that as pointless....

Ahhh. My pardons if the goblet cannot be used in unidentified state. Some items can be used regardless of ID status while others cannot. Guess it belongs to the latter category then.
Still I would attempt a single sell-purchase. Frequently charged items are generated with a lower amount of charges than their maximum. You may get some more uses out of it. Or nothing at all.

No need for pardons, I completely overlooked that fact.

It may well be useable in an unidentified state, but too late as I identified it as soon as I got it!

Question Mark

Kiel's Helmet won't help against the effects of Durlag's Goblet. The helmet makes you immune to panic but the goblet actually lowers your morale setting; unfortunately, no spell or item in the game will raise your morale setting. The only way around the goblet is to use it only in a safe place where you can wait out its effects or create a spell/item that will make you immune to the lowered morale.

But, surely the only time the Goblet is needed, is in an unsafe place, otherwise normal healing spells would do the trick lol. Catch 22.

So, the Goblet is best used if your just about to die, so then if your lucky it will prolong your life a bit, and you never know, whilst running about in fear, you might not killed!

Actually there should be a dealer in Baldur's Gate that deals specifically in cursed items IIRC.
