What quests do you avoid in a "no reloads" game?

I know there are some quests that just aren't worth the risk in a no reloads game. What quests do you avoid?

I love Safana, but her quest... well, it's not worth the risk for a low-level party, whic is when I get her, quite frankly.

Watch out for Narcillicus and his jellies. He can be deadly if he is not quickly dispatched.
If you have a party with overall low HP, I would avoid the ankheg pit as well.
The Maulers of the Undermountain aren't a very tough battle, but it is easy to injure the bar man, etc if you are not careful.
Be careful when you encounter Demon Knights. There are a few of them in the game (in the underground maze, the excavation site, in a house in BG, Cloudpeak Mine), and they can do some serious damage with every swing they take.

Just remembered another quest...

Lathander and his buddy, Marek.

I've played that quest quite a lot, and well, it's a pain. I just kill him as he's trying to talk to me in the circus. If I don't know I'm poisoned, I can't be poisoned, right?

I'm not sure if the global variable for becoming poisoned initiates after you talk to Lathander at the tent area or after you first encounter the pair. Have you tested this before?

Yes. Just tested it. When you first encounter him, he threatens you, etc. You technically *aren't* poisoned at this point.

However, the second time you meet him, he tells you you've been poisoned, which is, I guess, when the Global Variable kicks in.

If you kill him before he can initiate the second dialogue... Well, like I said. What you don't know can't hurt you, right?

It's a pain in the arse that's worth it if you have a shortbow user, otherwise it's not worth much. (Except XP, of course)

Can Imoen use the Light Crossbow of Speed?

That's a very weird glitch...

Sometimes, thieves can use light crossbows, sometimes they can't.

I've had Baldurs Gate installed and uninstalled over the past couple years, and I've had her able to use them some times, and other times, she couldn't.

Really weird.
