I am new to the Dungeon craft world. Upon the building of my adventure, I noticed that I could not place NPC's as enemies in combat. Is this something someone can help me with or is it just not happenin'?

I had noted this also, on the Yahoo chat board for DC (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/UAForever/)
and I got an answer from Steve Mcdonald who is unable to post here. At his request I am posting this here. "This is something which was noted by a new Dungeon Crafer on the Ironworks Forum as well. If someone could post this reply there as well, that would be good. (I'm unable to post there.) I actually believe that, in FRUA, you could NOT have NPCs fight against the player characters. "However, just as in FRUA, there is an easy way to get around this in Dungeoncraft. Simply create a "monster" that is identical to the NPC. The only difficulty comes if you want the NPC to fight with a diminished number of hit points or with items that the party has given him/her." "For the longer term, it would be good if we could get more specific combat options, not only for NPCs but all "monsters". Even just having an option to have monsters fight with less than full hit points would be good. (For example, if the party casts fireball before going into battle, the monsters are already injured, but if they choose the other option, they have full hitpoints." "I'm not exactly sure what the "add original NPC" option in FRUA did, but I have a feeling that, if you ticked that box when adding an NPC who had already been added and removed before, it would add them with their original experience and items, but if you left it unticked, the NPC would join with whatever they had when they last left the party. Can anyone confirm this? Even if it was not a feature of FRUA, it might be a nice option to add to Dungeoncraft. " --- Now, to my own reply, you could have npc's as enemies (in fact they were all in the same database). And as I've been really busy with DC lately, I've found yet another bug. The HD modifier cannot be negative (as in a goblin which has a HD of 1-1). SilentThief

Actually, playing around with the combats showed me that you could fight NPCs, as in there is a selection in the monster Database that lets you pick "Npc Combatant", and then goes into the NPC list and you can then pick which one. Then it returns you to the quantity and friendly window where you can have a whole bunch of them if you want (picture 50 of 'em, like "Smith" from the matrix...)
