I am not sure if the Eagle Eye bow is better than the triple shooter. The tripleshooter can shoot 3 bolts while eagle eye has 40% bonus damage. but is the 40% better than x3 bolts? Obviously, x3 bolts is 300% damage and mathematically, thats far better than 40%.
The Tripleshooter crossbow is very easy to obtain. All we need are three Light Crossbows and a Gadgeteer. As soon as I manage to contruct one, I gave it to my ranger. However, since it shoots too frequently (in late games), the ranger looses stamina too fast that it only takes 3 rounds for the ranger to faint from loss of stamina. Once the party got to Ferro, I gave the ranger the Eagleeye, but he isnt doing much damage with it. What gives? For an expensive 40,000 piece of weapon, is it a dud vs the tripleshooter? |

A lot depends on the ammo used for the bows as well as how close you are getting before settling into ranged combat. The farther away you are, the more times they are going to miss. I preferred to get my people close enough that if I chose to move again I could run to the nearest monster by the end of one round.
I also discovered that my ranger started getting lots more insta-kills once I gave him the eagle-eye bow. I had him using the triple x-bow for awhile but since that's a -1 to hit he wasn't doing nearly as many with it. He was firing 9x/round, hitting about 66% and doing about 125-150 damage with it total and insta-kills once every third or fourth combat. By the end of my first game I had him - using the eagle-eye bow - firing 6x/round and hitting 95% of the time for an average 125-150 damage and insta-kills every third round or so as opposed to my valks (both using triple x-bows) firing 9x/round and hitting about 60% for an average of 80-100 damage total and no insta-kills. My bard was using a Strength Bow, firing 6x/round, hitting for around 75% for an average of 100-115 damage total and no insta-kills. I was using mystic arrows and lightning bolts as ammo. So it depends on if you want more accuracy/hits and insta-kills or more shots fired. On the plus side, by firing fewer times a round my ranger and bard could go longer in battle and my valks both had higher stamina totals than the other two did so they all tended to need Rest All about the same time. I know I found both of my bows to be excellent investments but I also enjoyed the use of the triple x-bows to give my valks some decent ranged damage too, even if they weren't as accurate in hitting with them.

I think that the Eagle Eye Bow is better because of the insta-kills and you use not so mutch arrows and a bigger chance to do insta-kills!
I also build up my "Speed, str and dex to get the ranger to be an killing machine an he is now at level 25 and he has insta-kills almost i every round ![]() |
