The ugly shine on it spoils the general appearance of my charcter!
Is there a way to remove the glass-effect on enchanted stuff?

There's some mods that remove the glass effect on enchanted stuff. Try searching for it in morrowind summit.

also search this forum or elderscrolls.com for tweaks in the morrowind.ini i think there are some settings one can change in that ini file to disable shiny surfaces on amor and such.

i personally wouldn't fool around with it. a mistake will be made no matter how careful you are, and you'll have to reinstall.

yeah i agree the effect is cool but i prefer the armor just by itself

I actually think that the effect on weapons looks cool...but the plugin removes all shine from items
