You get the Kings Cave Key when you kill the king in the Rapax Away Camp.

For the safe, you don't need a key, but deposit slips (if i assume right what you are talking about).

For the doors, you have to describe where they are, otherwise we can't help you.

Yes, Ivory Blade is that good. The coral is an area not too far from the sunken pirate ship, I believe, unless you sold or discarded it.

The Staff of Ashes is in an area reached by the central portal once you get to the two portals (not the one on the right). You reach that building first by going to a lower level from one of the walkways when you pass the 3 prisoners. Look for a gap in the fence on your left. There is one more trick to pass the short lava path to get to the building with the portals once you are on this lowest Rift level.

If you are at the cage holding the Staff of Ashes, you need to touch the keyhole with the Flamequenching Wand. You have to give it to someone with ability to use it, click on it, leave the inventory menu, click on keyhole. Hope that helps...

I know of no other place to get the Coral, you will have to check with Antone to see if it is still there.

Better swords are Excalibur and the Light Sword. They are random and hard to get. Some say the Muramasa blade is also very good, you get this from a deposit slip used in Rapax King's quarters. Only good for Samurais I think.

In my opinion, Fang is better than Ivory Blade. Ivory Blade has unlimited Haste(3), but Fang has high critical chance + some stat bonus.

Excalibur is only better if you don't want to dual wield, or have several fighter-type characters. For a single fighter, i prefer Fang + diamond eyes (or a big shield).

Marumasa Blade is very good, but Samurai only. Its common in the Queens chest. Bushido Blade is always available, samurai only too, and about as good as Fang.

I guess it depends on your taste. I have had parties where Ivory Blade was not needed. Currently I need a third good sword and didn't get Excal or LS, or anything at all good at DJ's locker or the pirate ship. I didn't want to do the reload-and-fight-again treasure quest this time. Thanks for the headsup on Haste (3) with IB. I had forgotten about that and I need Haste with my party of 4 (val, rog, gad and alc).

On a related note, I found out I need a Hogar's tusk to get Ivory, which is where I am now: in front of Ferro about to do a grueling battle with 50 or more Rapax. Forgot to get one, earlier. Maybe I'll set a portal here, transport out, get the thing, transport back, then fight. If I take some time, the Raps will be back to other places and it might be easier to reach Templar area as a bonus.

Well, pardon my manners. Guess I'll have to do a little huntin' for some fine eatin'. I heared Hogar meat, though a bit gamey, is good when cooked real slow on a big spit with some emerald slime saute and Crock's swamp spices. Hoo hah!

rurouni,

I have to agree with Wereboar and Ziggurat. If you have Fang, the Ivory Blade doesn't necessarily get you much. In addition, it costs (iirc) 100,000 gold. That's a considerable amount to spend on a sword if you don't need it.

BTW, I left the castle by transporting out after talking to Ferro, the armorer, for the first time. Got some good stuff and left the battle before I think they saw him. I then solved most of the Northern maze, fought some critters in Arnika and on the road, came back to Ferro in the castle after at least 4 cycles, and....

They are still breathing down my neck!

Guess I'll have to stay by Ferro and tough it out. I'm pretty sure if I came in through the front again they would be there by Ferro, and he would be Rapax meat. Which, I have heard through disreputable channels, is not very tasty.
