I'm getting my computer upgrade soon, and I need help in deciding which games to get, (in case you are wondering I have $84.85 left to spend).
I'm looking for a good rpg game, if you got some ideas post them here please. Thanks!

With 85 $ left to spend, I would go for older titles that are still popular among the gaming community.
Planescape Torment - this one may be hard to find BG1 (and TotSC) and Bg2 (Soa and ToB) - BG2:SOA is 19.99 at EB online IWD and Heart of Winter expansion (Free ToLM download) IWD is 14.99 at EB Look for Bundled versions of these, and save some money - EB is advertising IWD, BG abd BG2 "ultimate collections" for the PC that may contain several of these lumped in one place [ 06-13-2003, 02:13 PM: Message edited by: Micah Foehammer ]

I have all those (except for IWD expansion, BG Expansion, and the BG ultimate collection).
Oh and I don't go to Ebay.

EB = Electronic Boutique not EBAY.
How about NWN?

I got that too . I was actually looking at the add-on for it, (SOU) or morrowind, but I can't decide on either of them.
BTW whats Arx Fatalis (or whatever its called), I hear its a good RPG, is that true?

If the choice is between Morrowind or SOU, I would go for SOU.
Can't help you with Arx Fatalis - don't own it.

Thanks I'll think on it, but until I get my computer upgrade (which is at the end of June) I'll have to think about it.

If you decide to go with Morrowind you will find this RPG very much unlike the D&D RPG's you are so used to playing. Trust me, it took me a bit to unlearn my experience in order to learn the demands of this game. Character creation alone is deeper, more intricate, and challenging than Third Edition rules of D&D. The world is HUGE, I mean like MASSIVE, but so very different in so many ways. I'll never forget playing the game for the first time and noticing that the sun actually arching the sky and setting in the west.
The game is in first person perspective. It is packed with quests. It is almost 100% non-linear (unless you do quests, but even then you can do all kinds of things in-between). It's magic system is different. Again, if you decide to go with this game I suggest reading up on it a bit and study character creation, et. al. Two more things: A) Bethesda's games are tempramental. You can have the latest patches and you still need to tweak the game. You would think this company would learn from their previous buggy games like Daggerfall and Arena but no... and B) I highly recommend meeting their recommended computer system requirements. You'll be glad you did. |

Can only agree with Albomor, Morrowind is a great and interesting game. With the expansions, it even gets bigger...
![]() The game do have tendancies to crash every now and then but you soon learn to hit the quick save button often as you run and explore this world. The downside is also its greatness. It tends to feel repetetive and running alongish since you have some 100 of hours doing it ![]() But the game is truely fun and I have seen Morrowind/Tribunal sets arriving in stores.
