I guess that this is question about how linear the game is....
Here is a quick run down... I started out clearing the circus tent and then heading for the slums and making the deal with Gaylen... From there I went to the Copper Coronet and immediately got and did the Nalia's Keep Quest...I also ran into Jieran Firkaag and got the info on the Windspear Hills Quest... After that I headed back over to Waukeen's Prominade to restock and I ran into the woman that wanted me to meet her mistress in the grave yard... Once I got to the grave yard, I ran into the kid that wanted me to go to the Umar hills... So, after talking to the woman in the grave yard, I went ahead and headed to the Umar Hills...Which I am pretty close to being done with... My question is this...are there "timers" on the other quests? Should I be doing the quests in a certain order?...I don't want to accidentally miss out on some of the side quests (other Copper Coronet Quests, etc...)....Or, is there nothing to worry about? Thanks!

There are only timers on certian ones such as the poisoned guy you wil lpick up at oen point. Also NPc like Nalia wil lget upset and leave your group if they think you are taking to much time before you help them with their quests.

Take your time and enjoy the little stuff. I think that is one of the things that sets this game apart. Like in chapter one at the promenade, all the little shops and the inside jokes that you really have to look for (Rocky and Bullwinkle). There is also some clowns that need a beating upstairs in one of the inns. Don't just try and beat the game, it is rollplaying.

Yeah, I'm just starting out on this game also and there seem's
to be an over whelming amount of quests compared to BG1. I hate loosing party members, as it can make for very tough combat, but it seems very hard not to loose them. |

If a party member wants you do do something (such as Korgan wanting to recover the Book of Kaza) as a condition of joining your party, it's best to get that done fairly soon (within 2 days, I'd say), or they'll leave. Don't worry, they'll give you a warning ("Hey! I thought you said we were gonna go do this!") in time for you to do their quest & keep them happy.
If you're bogged down with quests already & don't have time for another one, don't take that NPC into your party yet. For instance, if you tell Nalia to go ahead to her keep and you'll meet her there later, she'll stick around until Doomsday waiting for you, and so will the quest. As has been said before, the quest that starts with Renfeld the Poisoned Man does have a timer--if you don't get him to help soon, he'll die. Interestingly enough, a similar quest (you happen upon a man buried alive) has NO timer--you can leave him locked in a coffin in a half-filled grave for a MONTH & he'll still be alive and well when you get back. You mentioned the woman who wants you to meet someone in the graveyard? That quest DOES have a timer--I think you have 3 days to make it to the meeting, or the offer will be withdrawn. But it sounds like you've already talked with the person.
