I don't think so. I've played mine in both old tv's and new ones and it doesn't seem to have any different effect. As long as your tv is in good working order that is.
If there is supposed to be a difference then I haven't noticed it. |

My sister has ps2, with a very ancient t.v. Works fine. Also know that ps2 can play dvd's.

Cool! I'm getting a PS2..
I'm thinking its going to outlast the Xbox and Gamecube. I play VCDs with my tiny TV at the foot of my bed..The only problem I experience is that the lower portions of the screen are cut off, so if there are subtitles or anything I'd probably not be able to see them.
