I guess what Ironworkers learn when they are close to death is deemed worthless. I'm sorry that talking about something superficial like ones own bleeding to death in hospital is a lockable offense here. Good to see how the land lies. I'll try and not post anything close to my heart in future and keep personal anecdotes to a minum,

Glad to know what is valued and respected here so I won't have to waste my time in future.

I think he's talking about Grojlach's thread here.

Someone dies through loss of blood, and the thread gets locked... no idea why...

Ahh, yes, I found the threads. Wasn't paying enough attention.

I suppose the they were locked because the touched a sensitive topic here at IW; religion.

Uh oh, you've done it now. You mentioned the R word. Now the thread will be locked. How you manage to have a meaningful discussion without talking about what is most important to you is beyond me. The morotorium silences some more than others. Some may find it easy to not talk about something they live for. others of us have to be creative to not bring the thing up in conversation. It's an unequal gagging order. My faith is the reason I'm in NYC for example. In a thread about travel, I am gagged about speaking about it with any sort of honesty. In a thread about music, same deal. Can't speak with honesty about music, or history or anything including one of the most important things to happen to me in my life - facing death.

As said, glad to know all this so I don't waste my time in future.

Yorick, please don't make this out to be more than it is. Read the advice and guidance posted on the subject of religion in recent threads. We are trying to be as accomodating as possible, but there is a line that we will not allow to be crossed for the good of this forum as a whole. You may not agree with it, but pay us the courtesy of accepting that it is not a personal attack on you.

I'm sorry you feel personally slighted by the closing of your thread, but if that's your interpretation, then there may be a difference of opinion on what should be allowed here that currently cannot be reconciled with your principles. If that is truly so, then I would suggest you take some time out from posting here until you feel comfortable with the way we have decided to run things.

You know me of old, and I hope you will take this advice as it's intended - not to belittle and denigrate your passionately help beliefs, but rather as if it was from someone who respects your integrity and sincerely hopes that you can continue to contribute to these discussions within the parameters we have set down.

Whatever you decide, I wish you well.

*shrugs*
I usually don't get involved in religious matters, for a very simple reason - I'm not religious, and I don't care if someone else is. If some people find peace, strength and guidance in religion to enrich their life and those of others, hey, then more power to them. It's when it seems to do more harm than good however when I think it's important to point that out as well. There was no Evil Mod Defying Masterplan behind posting that particular topic from my side, however; personally didn't really see the harm of it.
I'm not sure if it was really necessary to close that particular topic, but then again, it's your party, not mine - I will abide by it nonetheless.

Yorick, you need to CHILL OUT dude. You know exactly Why *I* locked it. Because it was religious in nature. Don't try to make this out to be something that it IS NOT.

CLOSED.
