I think it would good to see where the people who post here are located, even if it is just by country. Is it posible for everyone to go into your profiles and add a general location? Sometimes it helps to get a better grasp on your thought if you know where the poster's location is.

I think it is more important on this forum than on any other, that's why I posted here BTW.

Just a thought.

Really, what I meant is that some of us have no place written next to "from:" on the left of the posts, or have a fantasy derived place listed. Since this is a forum where our thoughts here may have more or less power considering where you write from, that info should be semi-accurate. An anti-American foreign policy post has a different spin if it is from within the USA or from elsewhere. I just thought it would be helpful if we knew from where you post.

Shouldn't a person's views and words be taken as they are offered? I don't know that having their nationality should make a difference. Except to make it possible for them to be judged more or less based on their country of origin and not their words.

Still, I do think a large number of posters list their origins or will say so in posts. Those that don't, may have reasons for not divulging such data, who knows?

My two cents worth

OK. It was just a thought. I just remembered how outraged people got over the first post by AboveTheRimYo called "US taught a lesson....will it ever learn from it?" The first response was "Do you live in america?" I thought it would help to have a general idea where the perspective was coming from, that's all.

I agree skywalker. It gives perspective.

No one has to do it, but if you don't mind/care if people know then fill out your location in your profile. And actually, it's not just good for this forum. I'd like to know in all the other forums as well.

I'm from a small town, and to me, it's kind of neat to have discussions with folks from all over the world. It doesn't matter if you're talking about the problems of the Sword Coast, terrorism, or just trying to figure out why your mom called you "the nameless one".

But the People in their weeping
Bare the iron hand;
Beware the People weeping
When they bare the iron hand.

OK, if it's for perspective

-From Canada (Quebec to be precise)
-Atheist (don't believe in any God or life after death)
-BA Honours with Major in International Relations and Minors in History (Cold War) and Political Science.

That should be enough.

This thread was started in hopes that if people don't mind/care if people know where they are from that they edit their profiles.

Again, this isn't just for this forum, but for every Ironworks forum.

"The Martyr" (excerpt)

There is sobbing of the strong,
And a pall upon the land;
But the People in their weeping
Bare the iron hand:
Beware the People weeping
When they bare the iron hand.
