OK, I've decided to go through BG2 and ToB with an evil main character, which I've never done before. I just started out a few days ago and am into Chapter 2. I have just gathered all the NPC's together that I think will make up my party for most of the game. Here's what my group looks like:
1.PC NE Half-Elf Mage/Thief 2.Korgan 3.Anomen (I have already set him on the path to becoming CN...had him kill that guys daughter in cold-blood...heheh I am such an evil little Elf 4.Cernd Before anyone crucifies me for this choice let me just say that so far I have found his Werewolf form decent in melee and I think that some of the Druid spells rock...any constructive comments are welcome though 5.Viconia What needs be said...she's a little Drow hottie and really seems to Dig a greedy, power-hungry, mafioso like my main character 6.Edwin He's a jerk but also IMHO the only worthwhile NPC mage in the game. Now when I get to ToB I am thinking of swapping someone out for Sarevok...I think either Cernd or Anomen anyone have a suggestion on who should go? Also, I considered Haer'Daelis in place of Cernd but figured that I would rather have the Druid spells over another second-rate arcane caster, I'm curious what any of you guys might think about that choice. Please any comments/tips from people who have played through the whole game with any or all of these NPC'S would be welcome. P.S. Am I the only one who thinks that the game designers gave little thought to providing evil choices/dialogue options and quests to players who choose to have a little fun and play as a bad guy?

He does? Madman Rogovich, you just told me! Oh well, there can't be too many surprises in this world......
Edit- Oh yeah, don't stick with Cernd. He has a vary annoying quest, he sucks, he can't cast spells when he is a werewolf but is VERY vulnerable when he is not a werewolf. Go with Haer'Dalis or something. He is cool dual wielding the Blade of Roses and Blackrazor.....Very cool. [ 06-12-2002, 07:37 PM: Message edited by: Willard ]

Keep Cernd until you find a flesh to stone trap.
I was working on an evil party, led by a CE Stormlord. The stronghold quest was very cool. I know people always "say" there's a difference between being evil and being psychotic. But oh well... After a while, even at low levels, the cowled enforcers and amnish kinghts lose their intimidation factor. After completing the quests in trademeet, and watching them erect my statue, I proceeded to slaughter every single living being in the town. My advice, take Edwin Viconia Korgan ...and leave it at that. When you get bored with them, pick up an NPC, any NPC, abuse them for a while, and then "let" something terrible happen to them. You're evil, so who needs a lot of friends anyways. Three companions is enough.

I would add Valygar to the party.
Drop either Anomen or Cernd. Druid spells are interesting and so I suggest you drop Anomen since Viconia is also a cleric and she is a must in your evil party!

Valygar? In an EVIL party? Please tell me you're kidding! *gawks* Sheesh! Just download Valen the CE fighter/thief!
![]() http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~weimer/bgate/valen.html Admittedly, you don't need another thief in your current game, but with all those traps and GWW in ToB it'll be sah-weet. ![]()

OR...
create 3 PC's of your own in multiplayer mode and then pick up Viconia, Edwin, and Korgan. ![]() -Saz

I solved the "I don't want to be stuck with a party of 4" problem and the "There are no Evil Thieves" problem at the same time, by going Multiplayer. My Evil PC was a Cleric/Mage, and right after we finished Xzar's quest and found Montaron's body, I went Multiplayer and brought in an exact copy of Montaron. He kicks ass! Woohoooo!
