What level to undertake watchers keep

I did a search and found the same question, however it was concerning a party of six. I have PC-Level 10/12 Wizard Slayer/Mage, Jaheira lvl 10/11 and Valygar level 11. I went to the keep to check it out and it took me to the entrance and I talked w/everyone. I didn't go in(I reloaded my quick save). Can you go in and out as you please? Or once you're in that's it? And will I be demolished?

every level has an exit but you have to beat the level for it to open. At those levels i might try the first 2 levels and then come back later. Oh I'd also suggest attempting the ritual not trying to fight. Just so you know the monsters do change in difficulty depending on your level but i'm not sure how much. I usually beat it between level 13 and 16 but in a 6 person party.

The way to determine whether or not you're the proper level to enter Watcher's Keep: Save a separate copy of your game, and then enter the Keep and beat the entire first level. If you did NOT find a Bastard Sword whose name begins with an F, you're not ready for the Keep. Reload your Saved game and don't go into the Keep itself--you can still buy all the gear you want from what's-her-name on the rooftop, though.

SpongeBob, you're going to have problems with that party unless you have the very best equipment. Some of the monsters on the thrid and fourth level are very, very, very hard to kill. If you had a party of 6 I might say make a backup and just try it out, but 3 level 11 characters are not much when I remember making reloads with a level 10/38 Swashbuckler/MAGE that had THE best equipment. Just to give you an idea, if you remember the party of 5 Demon Knights from the Kuo Tua village in the underdark? Well, they are NOTHING compared to some of the fights. A party of goblins vs Irenicus is similar to 5 Demon Knights vs certain battles in there...

However, there is a way to level up really fast in the keep without cheating! If your party is strong enough to fight them, Sucubi give 14000 XP each, and there is a room where they always come out in groups of 3 or 4 when you sleep. They are annoying as hell, but one of the least dangerous monsters on that level. Its "safe" to just sit there and level up while trying out your new spells.

Okay I've gone in. I do have some good equipment-PC dual wields flail of ages and Drakkon Zerth's Katana, Valygar has Celestial Fury and his family blade and Jaheira has Shadow dragon armor and blackblade? club,(is there a better club or scimitar this isn't very destructive).
It took me forever to find the candle for the ritual but I finally got it. These statues aren't much trouble and they're giving me 20000 exp. Cool. Went through the portal to the next level. I talked to the demon in the cage and I don't trust him but I guess I'll have to let him out to get out myself.
Now I've beaten all the guards to these mages' chambers and now I've got to figure out the whole fan deal. Wish me luck.
Oh...do these 2 levels count as part of the 5 dugeon levels?
