Which is, in your own opinion, the best mix of NPCs if you are a mage!

Don't panic if you don't get an answer straight away - it's quieter here at some times than others! You will get replies!
If you're playing a mage you need some good fighter types. Minsc is great, I also like Ajantis, Kivan or Coran. Coran is multi-class thief which is also useful. Jaheira is a fairly good fighter/druid and Branwen or Yeslick for Clerics. For BG I try to have 1 mage, 2 warriors, 1 thief, 1 druid, 1 cleric. If you can use multi-class NPCs to combine some of these skills then all the better. Of course a lot of it depends upon your alignment. If you are evil, you may want to go with Kagain (fighter), Viconia (cleric), Montaron (fighter/thief) as good NPCs will get annoyed by your evil deeds and may leave. ------------------ ![]() Time is an illusion. Also remember that some NPC's are paired. Meaning that you can't have one without the other. Allthough their are ways around this but, imo, the game makes them as such so you should use them as such. So plan accordingly.

If your character is a mage then I would probably go with this line up:
Minsc and Ajantis for front line fighting (Minsc is very strong and Ajantis has lay on hands) Kivan and Imoen as archers (Kivan is an excellent marksman and Imoen ain't bad with a short bow +1, plus she's a thief) Brawen as your personal body guard and healer of the party (she's a good enough cleric and you get her early) If you like a more evil party I would definately pick up Kagain as he can rengerate hit points. Your front line fighters need to be able to take a beating, so I would avoid Shar-Teel if you'll be playing as a mage. She has really low constitution. |
