SoA->ToB Game
-------------

Flails is by far the best choice in terms of "integral of utility with respect to time". The Flail of Ages is available early on (beware of Improved Tor'Gal, though!), bypasses stoneskin, slows without a save, and kills trolls. The slowing effect is really amazing - it does not allows a save, bypasses Magic Resistance, and is *cumulative*! The Flail of Ages is also very powerful if you have ToB. Really.
The Defender of Easthaven makes a lovely off-hand weapon.

SoA-Only Game
--------------

Katanas are a lovely choice. That is to say, "The Katana" is a lovely choice, 'cause there's really only one.
Two Handed swords are also a fine investment - Carsomyr, Soul Reaver, and the Silver Sword are all very powerful weapons.

The most notable weapons in SoA are, in my opinion, the Celestial Fury, the Flail of Ages, Crom Faeyr, Staff of the Magi and Carsomyr.

I might be the minority here by saying this, but, for weapon combos and role playing reasons, I really like Daystar and the improved Mace of Disruption. It is an utterly lethal combo. When given to Minsc, he can knock a vampire's virtual gibblets all over the screen

Firetooth. An amazingly powerful dagger. It's like lobbing a bastard sword at somebody's head. And setting them on fire. It makes a nice anti mage weapon.

And, I do agree about the Flail of Ages. It is a great weapon.

The flail of ages is Obviously going to be in everyone's choice because it's just so hard.

Slightly more original, my dual kensai(8)/mage(currently 24) dual wields Celestial Fury (that stun is awesome against multiple opponents cause you stun 1, move to next, repeat). Dak'kon's Zerth blade is in his off-hand, probably the one weapon every fighter mage wants in his other hand. It's a katana +2 that gives -1 AC, +1 spell to lvls 1-4. Those 2 weapons with all WP in katana and dual-weilding are awesome for kensai/mages (IMHO the *best* mixed class combo)... of course you have to waste points on other WP while your mage class catches up with your kensai, but it's only a few, and you can always edit them over with shadow keeper if you're that way inclined

Rather than bore everybody with the usual fare of the usual suspects, I will just mention one of my favourite weapons. It is not one of the best, but it is a very fun weapon.

The Sleeper +2.

I had Minsc dualwield this with the Flail of Ages. Nice to see your opponents collapse to the floor and snooze as their brains get creamed.

staff of the magi very useful..
and black razor too

for unique weapons, i recall there is a cool weapon which it can actually be used as summon weapon indestructible since it cant be killed. and once the time is up, the weapon automatically goes back to your inventory. i forgot the name but it can be found in trademeet in one of the merchants.

and for one of the cool cloaks,

cloak of the sewers, you can turn into a troll once a day.. its cool since in case you are dying just transform into a troll (since it can regenerate pretty quick) although i dont find the significance of it being turned into a rat too once a day..
