I am on the first level of the tower and have spoken to the warders. I have figured out what most of them want, the problem is achieving those goals.

For example, I have found the mallet head and mallet handle. I have both objects on one person. I walk over to the anvil and click on the anvil. The dual arrows turn over the anvil, but a repaired mallet does not appear in my inventory. The computer just tells me that the object is an anvil used for repairing objects.

The same is occuring with the winemaking press. I have the switch to start the machine. I walk over to where the switch is, click on it, the dual arrows turn, but the switch stays in my inventory.

I have tried putting the objects into the quick item slot, they won't go thre. I have tried using different characters to do the deed, that does not work.

Is there a bug or am I missing something fundemental here?

You did everything right. I did it the same way and it worked fine. I have the ToSC-Patch installed however. You ca download it at bioware for example. Another good site for patches of all kind is

www.patches-scrolls.de

Here you have several ftp-servers to choose from, because the bioware-site is often quite slow (at least from my home).

Thanks for the link Chris77. I downloaded it 6.3 MB!

We'll see what happens.
