I believe that it can only be acquired by using CLUAConsole or GateKeeper.

That's correct. Another item that technically doesn't exist is the Backbiter Spear +3. BioWare made the item, and it's on the CDs, but in the end simply decided not to include it in the actual game, for reasons of their own. Don't ask me. I've heard that the Helm of Opposite Alignment DOES exist, however, but only for a short time under certain circumstances. (And I'll test that rumor this weekend.)

As they're saying, that one has to be CLUAed or Gatekeepered. But Kiel's helmet in Durlag's confers immunity to all forms of fear and panic, natural or magical, and boosts morale.

Another one of those items you can CLUA but was never implemented in the game is the enchanted club called "The Root of the Problem". I recall it gives a bonus vs. all "unnatural" creatures, among other things. I have heard it has been the subject of pixel by pixel seraches and never found. Someone I know on another board recalled finding it in the north Balduran's Island map, but it was most likely the staff mace she was thinking of.

Thanx for the help. I'm trying to play through the entire game with only one character...no NPC's. I'm using a fighter and really the only thing I've had to worry about is the sirens and that damn dire charm of their's. Any suggestions for a lone fighter to handle them without cheating?

Well, a Protection from Magic scroll would work of course. I'm sure those are available at Sorcerous Sundries, possibly even High Hedge.

Hmm, without magic...

Lobbing a potion of explosions or oil of firey burning at the edge of the fog of war where they are, and taking them out one at a time that way would probably do it. Ditto if you fired arrows of detonation probably.

The arrows are a little bit trickier, as you need to have a target--you can't just fire them into the ground, like you can with Fireball, a Wand of Fire, Potion of Explosions, Oil of Firey Burning, or a Necklace of Missiles. (Man, that's a lot of options!) The AI is a little bit better in ToSC--if you don't have the expansion, you can do things like Fireball at the edge of your vision, and enemies caught by the blast will sit there and take it. Once ToSC is installed, they're finally smart enough to see where the blasts are coming from and come after you.

I believe a Potion of Clarity will prevent confusion, feeblemind, fear, and charm. There's one in Candlekeep.
