Why do you guys keep saying the Cloak of Mirroring is so bad and it's overpowered. Yeah, well maybe it is and i would have also wanted to get it harder. I want it to be choped to pieces, hidden and i want to quest for it. I also want to know more about it, how did it come to be? By whom was it used before me? Either than that, it's a good item. It makes us more godlike muahahaha and some of us like that...

It's the old discussion between powergamers and roleplayers again. Actually this is more a question of personal taste or maybe gaming philosophy (though I sometimes get the impression it's almost religious, reading some posts). POwergamers take advantage of any possibility the game offers, trying to become as powerful as can be. Roleplayers try to act strictly according to their character's traits and abilities. As lawful good they would always refuse to cut someone down, only because they are asked to do so. They would not place traps at positions where they expect (from previous games) enemies to appear. And some of them do not use items that are overpowered (as you state yourself for the cloak).
Well, I like my enemies eat the dust, so I have no scrupel using the cloak. But don't tell anyone, powergamers are not overly popular on this forum. They are too close to cheating

If it's in the game, and it isn't against my alignment to get it (the cloak is found on the body of someone who attacks you for no reason!), I have no problem with using it.

I don't solo either, so that cloak only saves one character (usually my tank with Boots of Speed on). I still have quite a few people to worry about.

I see. So a nearly invincible solo character is actually easier than one nearly invicible character among a party of 5 liabilities waiting to happen.

If you have ToB the cloak isn't that cheesy.

In SoA it's a non disspellable spell turning, so if that nasty mage send's a finger of death your way it end's up landing back on himself, in ToB it's spell deflection which is not as bad.

Personaly I don't have a problem with it, because it also block's spell's that might have a positive effect, like heal and others.

The thing is that when i use the Cloak of Mirroring, it doesn't reflect the spells back to the surse, it just nullifies them. And when i cast heal on myself it works perfectly.

IMHO, they put it into the game, it's not cheese. If you are taking advantage of the games engine by doing something that wouldn't be done in PnP (cloudkilling a dragon, for instance), that's cheese. If you're using something overpowered like the Solaufein or Item Upgrade mods, that's cheese.
