After SIX MONTHS of my install asking for Disk 5, I have *finally* got BG2 working again

For the record, what finally worked was a small variation on copying all the files to hard disk and running setup. I had to copy all of them to the other computer (which is networked to this one), share the folder, and run setup on this computer. I did a full install, and sofar it is working perfectly .

But now, I need advice- I am playing a Neutral Good Elven Jester (had to do a small bit of tinkering in SK... ), and can`t decide on my party. I usually use atleast 2 mages, a Paladin, a thief, and a druid. If I use the baldurdash patch to stop chracters leaving due to reputation, is Keldorn-Yoshimo-Edwin-Jaheira and a space for NPCs I pick up for their quests a good setup ??

I think that your an idiot, but thats just a personal opinion. Yes i think thats a very good setup, you must allways have yoshimo and edwin! What kind of a party would it be without those two? Jan is a good choice for after, spoiler........................................... ......... Yoshimo betrays you.

After the betrayal, i`ll probably use Imoen... out of the many many Mage/Thiefs in the game, she should at that stage be the closest in level to the rest of my party (I`ll probably do all the stronghold quests before going to Spellhold )

That would be my guess as well... Unless his dad did some really weird things with those disks.
