bgt question

im having trouble going into some places in the game. When i tried to enter some of the tents in nashkel the game just goes off and the screen goes back to the desktop and when i click ctrl+alt+del it says the game is not responding. Iv tried going into the few tents a few times *note some of them work (the majority) but i also had this problem when entering the jovial juggler in beregost, i went upstairs and when i attempted to come back down the game cut out. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it? do the patches fix it? I have all the patches until 1.5 which im am almost finished downloading. Any help will be useful

You answer your own question - most of that was fixed in later patches. For now, just avoid those areas and in the jovial juggler, use the other set of stairs.

Its the problem with BGT - it is BG1, but it runs on BG2. In any case, its probably best discussed here: http://www.teambg.net/forum/?board=94 , where you can find the buglists and Bardez can fix any new ones.

We're up to 1.9 now. And 1.9 is 60Mbs. 1.8 is playable though, most of 1.9 is graphics fixes.

well every time i try to finish patch 1.5 it says busy. Its the FTP link that you gave me Andrewas. Is it still running?

have you got all the patches up to 1.9? and is 1.9 worth the time for us dial-up guys?

That FTP serves most of the files TeamBG have. Its not exactly a quiet server, and its not very high performance. Basicaly, a last resort. Mortis put the files on Kazaa, but I cant find them. Ill try noding down to england tomorrow, but I would expect to see them from my default node if they were still up. So thats out.

So, the IRC distribution is the way to go. You can probably resume the FTP download by taking the partfile and putting it in your mIRC download folder, depends on the download manager you used. You cant do this with getright as far as I know, the partfiles contain additional data and I dont know how to strip it. Try to finish that one from the FTP, and try during the quiet hours when america is asleep. But IRC is easier and faster, so use it for the rest.

As for 1.9 being worth it, the graphical glitches in the sewer are severe and I had to write my own script to get through chapter 8 without the patch. If you wanted to ask bardez to make a tissless version (or tizles if your being pedantic) he might do it. It would cut down the filesize a fair bit and the graphics are not strictly speaking nessecary. Or just do the damn download, 60 Mbs isnt that big.

i was using getright. Il try and fix it and then do the rest. Il locate them on kazaa or just do them at night on FTP so it isnt so busy. How big is 1.8?
