what i can't get is why i can't host a game. i am playing the game on a comp w/ a router, so that might be one of the problems, but the other players trying to join get the 'can't join session' display. and playing with a host who has a slower comp means MAJOR lag, so that isn't an option either. can anyone help me with this?

I do not have a router, but have been told that they contain their own IP address, separate from your PC...is that right? Also...do all routers come with built-in fire walls? I know a guy that has one that does. He has to totally disable his firewall in order to be seen by joining persons.
I hope this gives you some idea of things to consider. If not, let me know, and I will ask around tomorrow at work.
