He's a nice old tree and I enjoyed talking to him. His purpose in the game was never really made clear other than to be something interesting.

You don't have to kill him.

Treehuggers unite!

Oakenmir is an old, wise tree. He is not related to amazoni mantraps whatsoever. Leave him be! I bet you'll just go and hack away at Kerah and Anephas next, huh? Is there no sanity left in the world? The light, the light is extinguished...

Actually i went back after id done the anephas shrine to see if kerah was still there so that i could challenge her (and get that cool sword she holds!) but she was gone. once an NPC has filled there part they should be sent "to the light" forever.

Thank you, thank you, Alicat.

Really, does everyone have to whack on EVERYTHING in the game?? Are we that "starved" for XP? Isn't there ample opportunity enough to gain experience through normal adventuring?

If you guys are that XP crazy, go do the Leprechaun quest for the Thieves guild, and then run your @$$ in and out of the guild again and again and rack up the XP. It'll mean as much. Really.

The confounded logic of gamers completely escapes me sometimes. One will sit and hem and haw over whether or not to kill an evil opponent like Scabban or Ramakamil of Wyr, then turn right around and whack poor Erathsmedor or Oakenmir without a "by your leave." Me, I think I'm going crazy.

Off my soapbox.

P.S. Read the "Death, Kill, Maim, Destroy" for more on this. I'm not the only one who feels this strongly about it.

Thank You Saz,

I was afraid I'd have do the rant again myself. Why the heck there was an Oath in this game in the first place is beyond me!

Hmmm. Seems I ended the game with the sword FanPyre mentioned, can't remember how. Is it because I gave up the Mavin and that was the consolation prize?

I dont know what to say really...
Please dont send grue morde after me... hehe.
I just feel that if u can kill a good guy and suffer no consequences then this Suggests that maybe he wasnt such a good guy to begin with, take torin for example, he is a "good guy" yet he hangs around a cave waiting for the third oracle of the sword to appear "who hath served the good cause for 1100 yrs" so he can kill him. Also the gypsies rob u if u get too close and the toad guy is rude!
