The ninja quest does not check to see if you lowered the drawbridge or if you disturbed any spirits doing it or not, it only checks to see if the drawbridge is up or down. So if you lowered the drawbridge to gain easier access to the ruins, you completed the quest whether you wanted to or not.

I think that the original quest called for you to leave the sentry alive and the drawbridge down, but it was changed towards the end. I have several times climed the wall at the broken spot, moved along the wall and lowered the drawbridge without the "Sentry" knowing that I was there. I would then run along the top of the wall, killing monsters from above before going back and killing the sentry.

In order to complete the quest as originally planned, the sentry would have had to be a regenerating monster, much like Rumphy. My guess is that they decided to not include a regenerating monster and made it so that only the drawbridge mattered.

Gee, this isn't the case with me. Each time I had the Ninja quest, I went to the castle and the bridge was back up and I had to lower it again. Hmmmmmm. . . wonder why? Maybe cause I an running the patch. . .? Maybe because I didn't go to the Dojo soon enough. Well, I can be glad for you anyways.
